Memphis escapes severe wind damage, but freezing temps on the way

The thunderstorms and strong winds that hit the area late Sunday left more than 10,000 Memphis Light, Gas and Water customers without power. The strongest wind gust was recorded at the Memphis International Airport at 8 p.m. However, temperatures are expected to fall below the sheets and fall further, with a low of 31.
