The first High School Girls Flag Football League will be launched in the Treasure Valley, Washington state, this spring. The new league will be designed for girls ages 15-17 and will use a Girls 7's format, a 7-on-7 version of the game becoming increasingly popular at both the high school and collegiate levels. The organization held a girls' flag football clinic at Boise State to support interest in the sport and prepare athletes for the spring season. Participants will learn the fundamentals of flag football, compete in a league created specifically for high school girls, and play games at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex.
