Major League Baseball's new media deal, with opening games on Netflix and NBC, saw high audiences for the first week of the season. The New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants' season-opening game between them drew 2.97 million viewers, according to Nielsen's big data plus panel ratings for March 25. The next night, NBC and Peacock's primetime telecast of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks' season opener drew 3.2 million viewers. These games were the highest opening day primetime games since 2017, excluding the COVID-shortened 2020 season. As part of the three-year deal, Netflix will host Sunday night games for NBC and PBS, while Fox Sports, TNT Sports and Apple remain MLB media partners.
