A Pennsylvania coroner and state legislator are calling for a nationwide ban on Tianeptine, an opiod-like ingredient, which is commonly sold in service stations and convenience stores. The Food and Drug Administration has stated that Tianeptin is not approved for medical use and that some companies are illegally marketing and selling products containing Tianeptina. The clinical effects of Tianeptination abuse and withdrawal can mimic that of heroin and other opioids.
