Robert Eldred, a man who charged at Hamilton County deputies with an axe before being shot, has been sentenced to five years in prison. The incident occurred in February when deputies responded to a report of a suspect allegedly chasing people with a baseball bat. Eldred ignored orders from deputies to drop the bat and went inside his house to grab an axe, which he continued threatening with despite law enforcement efforts. The deputies fired two shots at Eldred in self-defense, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
