UK woman blames vaping habit for lung cancer diagnosis at just 22 years old — and she has just months to live

Kayley Boda, a 22-year-old retail assistant from Manchester, UK, has been given just 18 months to live after being diagnosed with lung cancer in her early 20s. She began using heavy amounts of vaping when she began coughing up a brown substance with "grainy bits" in it in January 2025. After undergoing surgery to remove the lower lobe of her right lung and chemotherapy, she was declared the all-clear in February 2026 but two months later, the cancer had returned in the pleural lining. Boda has issued a warning to others about the dangers of vaping and has made her partner, mother, and friends stop using it.
