Gaza is experiencing an unprecedented rise in congenital anomalies and a 140 percent increase in stillbirths. The Ministry of Health reported that cases of congenital anomaly doubled in 2025 compared to 2022, and the rate of stillborns also surged by 140 percent during this period. These figures are attributed to widespread hunger, the decline in healthcare services, overcrowding, exposure to contaminated drinking water, and ongoing Israeli air attacks. Despite a ceasefire in October, the death toll continues to rise. The conflict has killed at least 20,000 children and prevented many Palestinian women from carrying their pregnancies to term.
