Campaigns Make Use of AI in Attacks

Campaigns are using artificial intelligence to project a positive image of candidates and to attack opponents. Examples include Rep. Josh Gottheimer, a gubernatorial candidate in New Jersey, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which uses deepfake imagery to read out comments from Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner's online history. The conservative group Virginians for Fair Maps has also released a video criticising Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger for supporting pro-Democrat redistricting.
