A new study has found that genetics may determine the effectiveness of weight loss drugs and GLP-1, which fundamentally suppress appetite, slow gastric emptying, and alter brain signals. The study, which involved over 27,000 people, found that those with the GLP1R gene variant experienced greater weight loss. The findings suggest that future GLP‑1 prescribing could be personalized based on genetic profiles.
