Gianna Girardi, the niece of Yankees manager Joe Girardi and longtime catcher and manager, is starting her career in baseball in one of the cities where her uncle played. Gianna was born just as her uncle's playing career ended. She now serves as the in-game host of the Rockies, where Joe played three seasons after being drafted in the 1992 MLB expansion draft. Her passion for baseball grew throughout her childhood and she attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. She also interned for MLB Network and Altitude Sports in Colorado, covering Rockies, Nuggets, and Avalanche. She currently covers the Denver Nuggets for Gorilla Sports.
