Researchers have developed a futuristic concrete that could revolutionise the construction industry. The use of geocrete, a geopolymer concrete that incorporates materials such as slag, metakaolin, and fly ash, could reduce carbon emissions. The researchers found that adding paper mill sludge ash to geocreme materials significantly enhances its performance and environmental friendliness. This method could also contribute to the circular economy through repurposing of byproducts. The study also found that blending 10% PMSA into geocure could have a variety of applications in construction, including use in pavements, buildings, and infrastructure.
