Katie Meyer, a local LGBTQ+ community leader, passed away on April 16 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was remembered for her commitment to community service and leadership in Covington. Her work included as Executive Director of Renaissance Covovton from 2010 to 2019, leading to economic growth, support for small businesses, and fostering a vibrant sense of place. She also launched and grew community events such as the Farmer’s Market, RoeblingFest, Art Off Pike, and the Running of the Goats. In 2015, she co-wrote Walking Cincinnati, a guide that highlighted the history and culture of many Cincinnati and NKY neighborhoods. After joining Cincinnati Bell in 2019, she led UniCity, the company's national “smart cities” initiative.
