ZDNET's shopping editor, Alexandra Basich, shares one of her favorite email tips that prevents marketing, ads, promotions, and other salesy emails from entering your inbox. The easiest way to avoid these emails is to set up a shopping email, a free email account set up through Gmail and use it as a primary email for nearly all subscription services. This email can help sift out the large portion of spam or junk mail in most people's inboxes. Basich has found this method easier than an unsubscribe campaign and more engaging in digital mail. Basic's shopping email is also the one she uses when ordering and receiving new-member offers and promo codes. Basisch has saved nearly $500 using services like Rakuten.
