Several locations on University of Utah campus have been identified as measles exposure areas amid a growing measles virus outbreak in Utah. The Salt Lake County Health Department (SLCoHD) has identified several new measles exposure locations between 3/24/2026 and 3/28 /2026, at a time when measles cases are increasing throughout the state. These locations include Alta View Hospital Emergency Department, Sorenson Molecular Biotech Building, and University of Salt Lake City's James Talmage Building. Other exposure locations include grocery stores, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouses, and school performances. Utah currently has 559 confirmed measles cases associated with the current outbreak, which started in June 2025. The most effective prevention against measles is vaccination, according to state epidemiologist Leisha Nolan.
