Avalon Commons phase II breaks ground, expanding affordable housing in Northeast Fresno

The first affordable housing complex in Northeast Fresno, Avalon Commons, has officially broken ground on Phase II of its second phase expansion, which will add 45 new units to the project, bringing the total number of apartments to 105 units. The project represents Fresno's ongoing commitment to providing affordable housing to all parts of the city. The City of Fresno contributed $4.2 million towards the project with $3 million from its local housing trust fund and $1.2M from Community Development Block Grant funding. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2027. The community room at Avalon Commons includes a playground, dog park, and playground.
