The hackers, who claimed to be affiliated with Iranian intelligence, posted Patel’s personal photos and messages to a website that appears to be associated with a pro-Iranian hacktivist group, which was hosted on a server in Russia. The FBI confirmed that Patel's email had been compromised by a group that has targeted U.S. government officials.
