World’s largest wildlife crossing finally has an opening date

The world's largest wildlife bridge, the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing over the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills, is set to open on Dec. 2, four years after it began. The main section of the bridge is largely completed and landscaped, but the remaining work involves connecting both ends of it to adjacent open space. The project aims to revitalize Southern California's mountain lion population and aid other animals that often get hit by cars on the freeway. However, delays and cost overruns have led critics to criticise the project, particularly conservatives who believe it is an example of wasteful government spending in California.
