ICE drops fiery response to Democratic governor suing to block new detention center

New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for planning to convert a warehouse for use by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Roxbury, a township of about 23,000 residents in New Jersey. The complaint accuses the Department of Homeland Security of violating four laws while trying to convert the warehouse into a center that could hold up to 1,500 people. The lawsuit also alleges that DHS ignored required environmental review in their rush to convert. Critics argue that the warehouse's location violates federal law, zoning and building codes, and inadequate bathroom facilities.
