Honda Motor (7267.T) has posted its first annual loss in nearly 70 years as a listed company, largely due to U.S. tariffs and costs of $9 billion to restructure its electric-vehicle business. The operating loss totalled $2.63 billion for the year ended March, compared to a median estimate of $315.6 billion by LSEG and a 1.2 trillion yen profit the previous year. The company expects to return to profitability this year, forecasting a 500 billion yen profit based on cost-reduction measures and its profitable motorcycle business.
