Flash floods in Nairobi kill 10, disrupt flights at major airport

The overnight flash floods in Nairobi have killed at least 10 people and disrupted flights at East Africa's largest airport. The area is popular for automotive workshops and secondhand spare parts due to heavy rainfall, causing it to flood and destroy dozens of cars. Aid workers removed bodies from floodwaters across the city, including an elderly man trapped under a car that had been washed away when it burst its banks. Scientists believe global warming is contributing to worsening floods and droughts across East Africa by concentrating rainfall into shorter, more intense bursts.
