A bill named for a 3-year-old who died from a fentanyl overdose is advancing in the Oklahoma Capitol, named "Leo's Law," which would require the Department of Human Services (DHS) to test for fentanyl in child welfare cases and require safety checks within 24 hours when a child may be in danger. The bill also requires drug testing before a child can be returned to a parent or guardian. If convicted of exposing a child to fentanyl, the bill could face up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. President Donald Trump and the White House have signed a signed letter supporting the bill.
