The announcement was made at an event in Philadelphia, where all four living former presidents, including Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, also made appearances. Kidman's decision was a reaction to a death in the family of her own two years ago. Other notable figures in Hollywood are also participating in the training process, including Tony-winning actress Celia Keenan-Bolger, Hamnet director Chloé Zhao, and actress Riley Keough.
