Florida flood watch extended in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale through Wednesday

The National Weather Service has extended a flood watch for parts of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, with an additional 1-2 inches of rain expected, with localized amounts of 3-5 inches possible. A rip current statement is also in effect for coastal areas. The flood watch will last until 10 p.m. on April 8 for metropolitan and coastal areas across all three counties. In Miami, the chance of precipitation is 60%, with new rainfall amounts of between half and three quarters of an inch possible. In Fort Lauderdale, showers and thunderstorms are expected, mostly after 3 p.am.
