Robert Schneider, a 59-year-old man from Van Nuys, has been convicted of first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of his stepfather, 74 years old, following an argument on the driveway of his home in Lawndale, California. Prosecutors allege that Schneider personally used the knife in the crime. He was on probation at the time of the murder after a previous conviction for second-degree robbery. The sentencing of Schneider is set for May 5.
