The Lakers have used a rare practice day to fine tune ahead of their final eight-game stretch before the playoffs. The team had not had two days off since the All-Star break and has played six of their last seven games on the road. Despite being without Marcus Smart for three consecutive games, Lakers coach JJ Redick said the short break was an opportunity for a reset ahead of a back-to-back set against the Washington Wizards (17-56) and Cleveland Cavaliers (46-28) on Monday and Tuesday. Redick also acknowledged that they could be better on the defensive end in recent games, but said they wouldn't have been able to riddle off the March that they've had. Luka Doncic, who will miss the game with a one-game suspension due to a technical foul, remains eligible for post-season awards.
