Jasper County, Texas, has issued a warning about the dangers of artificial intelligence after arresting a 17-year-old student, Nathaniel Davis, for creating an AI-generated nude photo of a classmate and posting it on Snapchat. Davis is charged as an adult under state law and is the first case involving artificial intelligence in the county. This is not the first time Jasper County deputies have investigated such an incident. The district attorney for Smith County, Jacob Putman, stated that Texas law has caught up with technology and if convicted, punishment could range from prison or jail time to probation. The sheriff, Chuck Harvard, has begun training his deputies about AI dangers and plans to target schools and post more Facebook content about it.
