Farmington, Maine, voters approved a six-month budget for the first six months of 2026, moving from calendar year to a fiscal year. The budget includes appropriations at the levels recommended by the Select Board, totaling $7,454,258. The net amount raised through taxation is $5,898,250. With an estimated $1.58 million in revenue, the budget includes a cost‑of‑living adjustment of 45 cents and a 9 percent increase in health insurance premiums. The appropriation is 48 percent less than the full‑year budget passed in 2025. A proposed Local Food Sovereignty Ordinance was defeated by voters, largely due to the fact that it already provides similar protections for local food producers.
