John Javier Alvarado, 39, is facing charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and murder in connection with the death of Carey Faust, a 62-year-old landscaping business owner. Faust was killed when a Hyundai crashed into the trunk of his car and the driver fled the scene. Following the discovery of enough evidence, investigators identified Alvolado as the driver. Alvarad remains in custody without bail and has a prior DUI conviction from 2016 and a criminal history that includes convictions for domestic violence, false imprisonment and receiving stolen property.
