Police in San Luis Obispo responded to several 911 calls about a man allegedly holding a gun and yelling at them. An officer confronted him and fired one shot, causing him to be hit. Despite efforts to save him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The officer involved was placed on administrative leave and the investigation is ongoing. Police will release body-worn camera footage in accordance with Assembly Bill 748.
