The mother of the 16-year-old boy charged with manslaughter in the shooting death of a Brooklyn high school football player, Ka'Mardre Coleman, is an NYPD officer. The arrested teen was allegedly passing around a handgun with friends when it went off, killing him in the chest. The boy's mother, who is not yet identified, served as an NYPD cop serving the 5th Precinct in the area. During his arraignment, his lawyer argued for lower bail and the judge set bail at $60,000 cash or $125,000. Ka’mardre’s older sister, 21, expressed her desire to know more about her brother's death.
