Why JJ Redick wanted to become the Lakers’ coach

JJ Redick has been the first coach to lead the Lakers to back-to-back 50-win seasons since Phil Jackson, who achieved that feat four years in a row from 2008 to 2011. Redick, who had no previous coaching experience, felt validated by the team's decision to hire him despite having played in the NBA for 15 seasons. Despite his lack of coaching experience and lack of experience, Redick always wanted to become an NBA coach. He credits his dedication to helping young players and coaching them as a means of helping them succeed in their careers. After his playing career ended, he pursued his dream three years ago and became a full-time NBA coach after leaving Toronto.
