Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has stated that Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is "wounded and likely disfigured". This comes a day after Khamenei vowed to avenge the "blood of martyrs" in his first public statement as leader. The Pentagon confirmed that four of six crew members aboard a refueling U.S. military aircraft that crashed in western Iraq have died, while rescue efforts are ongoing for the remaining two. The overall death toll from the Iran war continues to rise, with at least 1,300 people in Iran killed since the start of the conflict. President Trump stated that the US is decimating Iran's leadership and its "terrorist regime". He also called Iran a "nation of terror and hate" and said they're paying a big price right now.
