South Floridians gather to observe Artemis II launch at watch parties

The launch of Artemis II, humanity's first lunar trip in over a half century, was watched by residents across South Florida at watch parties across Miami-Dade and Broward. The mission is closely connected to Florida International University (FIU), where 13 alumni were instrumental in preparing for the launch. The launch is expected to raise the limits of space exploration and inspire future generations to explore the region. The last successful launch over 50 years ago was in 1972.
