The Washington state Legislature has passed the "Immigrant Workers Protection Act", which requires employers to provide timely notice to employees regarding a federal I-9 investigation. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Lillian Ortiz-Self, D-Mukilteo and Sen. Rebecca Saldaña, aims to increase fairness and transparency in the workplace for immigrant workers.
