Vanessa Collada, a 39-year-old woman from Dania Beach, has been arrested in connection with the death of a dog that was found emaciated inside her apartment late last year. The Broward Sheriff's Office identified Collada as the last person with the dog before it was found dead. The dog was discovered by a property manager when he checked on the unit on Nov. 1, 2024. The veterinarian later informed deputies that the dog had plastic and other foreign material in its stomach and died due to its emaciation condition.
