New weather radar trucks improve storm research

Three new mobile Doppler radar units have been introduced at the National Severe Storms Laboratory in Oklahoma. The new technology allows researchers to scan and collect detailed information about wildfires, tornadoes, and hurricanes. The cost of each vehicle is $1.5 million. The lab hopes their research will be more accurate during a storm and provide real-time updates to meteorologists.
