The 33rd Historic Trade Fair in Boone County, Iowa, hosted by vendors from across the Midwest at the fairgrounds. The event sees vendors and enthusiasts who embody the colonial era of the early American fur trade. The vendors use wood, metal, stone, bone, and banjos made from pumpkins to authentic fur pelts. Dwight Peters, one of the vendors, has been attending the event for 35 years and focuses on teaching history as it was, preserving skills and knowledge that would otherwise be lost, and providing a sense of gratification. The Boone County Historical Trade Fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, March 21, and 3 p.am.
