Bay Area arts: 10 cool shows and concerts to catch this weekend

The Bay Area offers a variety of music and classical concerts this weekend, including a musical "Reflection on America" by Lara Downes at UC Berkeley and two symphony orchestras. The California Symphony's final performance will be conducted by Donato Cabrera, who will conduct Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with award-winning pianist Sofya Gulyak as soloist. The spring concert for Symphony San Jose features Beethoven's "Pastorale" and Dvorak's “Carnival Overture” and Mason Bates’ “Philharmonia Fantastique”. The annual Yerba Buena Gardens Festival in San Francisco will celebrate the launch of a new season featuring Herman Olivera's Orquesta Taino.
