US employers add 115K jobs in April — another surprisingly strong report despite Iran war

The US added 115,000 jobs in April, which is about twice the amount expected, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This indicates that the labor market may be able to handle pressures from higher energy costs. The previous two months of job growth were revised downward to 185,000 and 156,000 respectively. The last three months of the previous year have seen only 48,000 jobless jobs.
