The upcoming Rogue Trooper adaptation, based on the 2000 AD comic strip, uses the Unreal Engine 5 for its unique animation style but the creative team didn't want it to look like a video game movie. They wanted to avoid the "uncanny-valley video game aesthetic" of the film. The film's cast includes Aneurin Barnard, Hayley Atwell, Sean Bean, Matt Berry, Jack Lowden, Jemaine Clement, Diane Morgan, and Reece Shearsmith. Despite using Unreal Engine5, the film's creator, Duncan Jones, stated that the film should feel like a comic-book movie by the end of it.
