Bay of Pigs Museum set to open in Miami as Cuban American community marks 65th anniversary of invasion

The Bay of Pigs Museum and Library in Miami is set to open its doors as Cuban American community commemorates the 65th anniversary of the Bay of Pirates Invasion, an attempt to liberate Cuba from Fidel Castro’s communist regime. The museum will be dedicated to the brave Cuban exiles who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of freedom. The mission was thwarted by last-minute decisions by then President John F. Kennedy, which resulted in the death of over 100 men and the imprisonment of over 1,000 others who remained in prison for almost two years. The Museum will be opened to the public with tickets and will record over 200 of the men who sacrificed themselves.
