Jane Shorting, a mother of two, is running the London Marathon and another 100 miles home in memory of her friend, Leigh Lawson, who died of breast cancer. Shorting will run the marathon with her husband Mark on Sunday, April 26, and will then run home to Gloucestershire, England, the next day. She will run 34 miles a day until she reaches her hometown, ending at the hospice. Lawson died at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham just days after the last year's London Marathon. Despite her commitment to running the marathon again in 2025, Shorting has already raised over $270,000 for Sue Ryder with husband Mike.
