Eric Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, has revealed that a character from The Boys spin-off Vought Rising will appear later in season 5, but the episode won't be "mandatory viewing". The references to the 1950s-set series will be made to the prequel, which will center on The Boys baddies Stormfront (Aya Cash) and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles). The character mentioned is likely to be Mason Dye's Bombsight, who has previously been mentioned onscreen as the third oldest supe in history. Despite the increasing connectivity between the two shows, Kripk insists that each series is its own story and that viewers don't need to know about Vought.
