She was remembered as one of the defining voices of Indian cinema, moving easily from romantic ballads to high-energy numbers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu both described her as "one of the most iconic and versatile voices India has ever known". Shahrukh Khan also expressed his belief that her voice will continue to resonate globally for centuries.
