A Democratic candidate for the Indiana State Senate, Andrew Dezelan, has been arrested for allegedly being high on cocaine while canvassing in a Fishers neighborhood. The arrest occurred around 8 p.m. local time on Sunday, when a police officer approached him with a report of someone soliciting and he was questioned about the difference between canvassing and soliciting. After a brief struggle, police found a small plastic bag containing cocaine and arrested Dezhan. He had previously served as policy director for the state Senate Democratic Caucus.
