Saun Peterson, one of the people accused of participating in the shooting death of 15-year-old Amya Monseratt, has been sentenced to at least 20 years in prison by Judge Anthony D'Apolito. The sentence was handed down after Peterson chose not to testify in the trial of his co-defendant, Danyo Sellers, who was ultimately found not guilty. The shooting occurred during an exchange of gunfire between people in the parking lot and someone in the car Peterson was driving past the restaurant. Prosecutors claimed that Sellers fired several shots from a car that Peterson drove past. Despite a motion by Peterson's attorney, James Wise, to allow Peterson to take back his guilty pleas in the case, Judge D’Apoliton denied this.
