New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill has been performing well in her first two months in office, with approval from 58% of Garden State voters, 34% disapprove, and 8% don't know. Fairleigh Dickinson University released the first nonpartisan approval survey on Sherrill's performance, with a more modest figure of 45% of Jersey adults approving and 29% disapprove. However, Rutgers-Eagleton released a second poll, which found more modest figures. The first polls for other Democrats who won big wins last November, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, also showed strong approval ratings. Despite this, there is ongoing debate over the accuracy of polling in the Donald Trump political era. Despite these polls, Sherrill remains popular among her base and Republicans are still expected to be around 20%.
