The National Weather Service has issued an ALERT DAY for the weekend, warning that severe weather is expected. This comes as a largely dry Saturday in Kansas City, followed by another severe risk on Sunday. The weather service will monitor severe weather events throughout the weekend. Most of the affected areas are in Orange, meaning there is a potential for severe weather. However, Saturday is expected to be a good day for outdoor activities, with potential thunderstorms expected later in the day. The most severe weather threat is expected for the METRO area, WESTWOOD AREAS, and lower areas of Northern Kansas. The National Weather Center is monitoring these storms for possible development.
