Chihuahua Won’t Stop Pawing at Her Until Owner Finds the Breast Cancer

Chihuahua named Flag repeatedly pawing at Kristine Richards' armpit, which alerted her to breast cancer. The 61-year-old retiree from Wellington, Somerset, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of hormone sensitive lobular breast cancer, which had spread to her lymph nodes. After a year of intense treatments, Kristine is now cancer free, largely due to Flag's detecting skills. She underwent surgical, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and drug therapy treatment, but the cancer has not returned in the years since. Flag is now Kristine's trained assistance dog and has become a local celebrity.
