Heather Dunn, a former stay-at-home mom, has become an advocate coordinator for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), helping recruit and support volunteers who advocate for children in the foster care system. CASA works with children who have been removed from homes due to abuse or neglect and often have experienced instability or trauma at a young age. Dunn's background in psychology and current master's studies at the University of Texas Permian Basin helps her understand the trauma children are experiencing. She is being recognized as part of Nexstar’s Remarkable Women initiative.
